How Often to Replace Transformer Oil Level Meters and Installation Notes
How to install a transformer oil level meter:
The transformer oil level meter is installed on the top of the transformer tank cover. During the manufacturing of the oil tank, attach the flange seat provided by our company with the product to the opening on the tank cover (using internal welding, with the cover opening diameter at 60mm). Make sure the connection is secure and leak-free. Choose the direction of the viewing window, and use bolts to firmly connect the oil level meter to the mounting flange (Note: the sealing ring must not be scratched, and it’s recommended to apply a bit of lubricant on the outer surface). When a small amount of oil is added, it can be poured into the port at the top of the oil gauge. By unscrewing the top cover or the pressure relief valve of the transformer oil level meter, slowly pour in oil until the oil level is above the transformer tank cover. At this point, all the floats in the window should be blue, indicating that the transformer oil level meter is at a normal level.
Take advantage of equipment maintenance periods to service the oil level meter, check whether the glass window of the transformer oil level meter is damaged or dirty, and replace or clean it promptly. If using other auxiliary functions, you can unscrew the top cover of the oil level meter and connect it using an M40×1.5 thread. Other foreign objects should not be directly inserted into the top, to avoid damaging the float or other components.
